"I'd rather be here and now."
This mixed media watercolor illustration is one of the 12 artwork I created after participating in a 10-day silent meditation retreat in the summer of 2016. I felt so centered and peaceful when I came home, I decided to create a series of artwork to remind myself of those blissful feelings. Then I figured other people can benefit from the reminder, too! It's not always easy to have peace and compassion when so many of our lives are surrounded by fear and violence, and a little encouragement to stay grounded couldn't hurt, right?
I painted dahlia flowers in watercolor and gouache (an opaque watercolor), and added my handwritten message with fine felt-tipped pen.
- This listing includes a high quality, archival giclee print of my original mixed media watercolor and pen drawing.
- It measures 8" x 10" (apprx. 20.32 cm x 25.40 cm) and is printed on velvet textured white fine art paper.
- Mat and frame are not included in this listing.
- This design is also available as Greeting Card
I will put this somewhere in my house where I'll see it regularly, particularly at the end of the day. It's easy to be hard on oneself and think we're never doing enough. I hope this will be a good reminder that just being is enough. Thank you for making this beautiful, uplifting art.
